EmpowerHer exhibit

Last weekend I had the most fabulous experience as an exhibitor in the EmpowerHer exhibit at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center. Curated by Tisha Smith, I was honored to be selected to exhibit my artwork alongside over 65 extremely talented female artist in celebration of International Women's Day. As a proud Nigerian- American, I am inspired by Ankara fabric and the beautiful Aso Ebi tradition of the Yoruba women of Nigeria. Over the span of 4 months, I manipulated over 1000 small pieces of paper to create this paper dress sculpture.. It was only fitting that "Aso Ebi Bella" make its gallery debut on International Women's Day!
